About the Anhart Foundation

At the Anhart Foundation, we are committed to making a difference through love, compassion, and pay forward generosity.

Our purpose is to pay forward donations to people who need them most. Since 1988, we have distributed more than $2 million to community organizations in 12 countries that support people suffering with homeless, Type 2 diabetes, and in need of micro enterprise to start small business.

We Pay Forward

Anhart’s mission is about countless altruistic acts of giving from the privates of business and individuals. The Foundation got its start when wealth Canadians generously paid millions of dollars forward from their profitable hard work. For the last 40 years, the Anhart Foundation has been returning the favor, not by paying back to the original donors, but by offering grants and pay forward loan for housing, villages, health and micro-enterprise to community based organization in 12 countries. In turn, local groups are paying forward in the own neighborhoods in concentric circles of love.

We Provide Alternatives

Anhart provides an alternative opportunity for alternative communities that want to create positive change in their own neighborhoods. Typically, groups of people who come together to adopt values different from mainstream society tend to become isolated or dependent of government grants or large donor organizations. Anhart and its numerous local partners have models an outward focused approach that embraces the world at large while maintain closely help values of self-sufficiency, and the triple bottom line of people, place and profit.

We Believe in Small

Believing in the power of small is integral to the Anhart community. Anhart understands that the universe is made of small things that interact to make groups of things that are both more and different than the simple addition of the parts that make up the group. This means empowerment and validations for all people and their ideas.
